Shree Bankey Bihari Dental College and Research Centre is an institution that is envisioned to focus on quality dental education and research and to provide dental care and services to the people.

Lack of awareness towards dental problems and diseases and their proper treatment is apparent in most sections of the Indian society. Poor oral hygiene and injurious habits, like consumption of tobacco are prevalent in the society. As a result, almost 95% of the adult population in India suffer from one or the other form of dental disease. Today, the population to dentist ratio in India is 36,538:1, which as per the Dental Council of India needs to be brought to 20,000:1. Therefore, the need of the hour is to train and develop more & more manpower in the dental field that has so far been one of the most neglected fields in the health care sector.

As a step towards meeting the needs of the modern Indian society, the college management has taken an initiative to set up an education and training centre that produces dental professionals and practitioners who can spread the awareness and provide treatment and relief to the suffering population.

The management's commitment towards this is reflective in the sprawling campus, the state of the art facilities and the world-class teaching being provided at the institution. The institution also houses a multi-speciality OPD that serves people from the poor segments at nominal cost or even free of cost. To spread awareness, the institution has also been holding free check up camps in the nearby villages and poor areas at regular intervals. The institution also dispenses medical and dental care products free of cost to the needy.

The management hopes that this endeavour will succeed in its objectives and provide quality dental education and care to the society. Quality dental care will then be a reality in rural as well as urban India.
