The degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
is to be awarded to students upon successful
completion of the study programme extended over
five years. The curriculum is in accordance
with the standards laid down by the Dental Council
of India (DCI). A major part of the curriculum
involves demonstrations, clinical practice,
knowledge sharing sessions with experts, group
discussions, seminars and conferences. Regular
assessment tests help in ensuring that the student’s
performance and progress is monitored throughout
the academic year and they remain serious in
imbibing the instructions.
The intent and the aim of the
dental curriculum is to produce dentists with
academic excellence, character and personality.
To facilitate this, our teaching staff includes
outstanding clinicians and teachers of repute
who have not only make a mark in their fields
but an also excellent at imparting knowledge.
The principal along with the faculty members
devote themselves to design and oversee the
academic activities, and assess the student’s
progress through regular evaluation.
Every student is required to
undergo prescribed training for a period of
five calendar years. The scheme of examination
for the BDS course is that there one five annual
professional examinations. The examinations
shall be open to candidates who satisfy the
requirement of attendance, progress and conduct.
Certificate to this effect issued by the College
Head needs to be produced to be eligible to
appear for the examination. After passing the
final BDS examination every student will be
required to undergo one year paid rotatory internship
at any dental institution recognized by the
Dental Council of India.
Duration of Course
The undergraduate dental training programme
leading to BDS degree is 5 years with 240 teaching
days in each academic year.

In addition to this, no candidate who has not
successfully completed the Ist BDS examination
can appear for the IInd BDS examination.
